Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Here you will find answers to the most common questions about nyinto.

nyinto is a private digital diary. Your entries are visible only to you – no one else can read, share or comment on them.

Each entry can contain text, saved places and GPS tracks (GPX files). Additional media types (images, videos) are planned for future versions.

The event date records when something actually happened – regardless of when you write the entry. If left empty, the entry creation date is used.

The filter button lets you narrow down your logbook by entry type, date range, keywords and geographic radius. You can save filter presets permanently in your profile.

The geo filter shows only entries whose linked places or tracks lie within a selectable radius around a chosen point. You can set the point by clicking on the map or by entering an address.

You can upload GPX tracks when creating or editing an entry. The Tracks page shows all your tracks in an overview, from where they can be linked to entries afterwards.

Filter presets define the default filtering for the logbook and tracks pages. They are applied automatically when the page is opened, but can be adjusted at any time for the current session.

Your diary entries are visible only to you. Maps (OpenStreetMap) are only loaded if you have explicitly agreed to this. For more information see the privacy policy.
